Mr. Halpern is
the founder and principal architect
of Halpern
Architects. His 30-plus years of
practice,
combined with his
involvement in a wide variety of project types, enables him
to bring
diverse experience to the firm. Mr. Halpern has particular
expertise in the design of waterfront houses, structural theory, and
historic preservation. He has been active in the Chesapeake
Bay
Chapter
of the American Institute of Architects, and recently served as the
Architectural Consultant to the Historic Preservation Commission for
the City of Annapolis. His work
as
Chair of the CBC/AIA Historic Preservation Committee was recognized in
2002 by the Annapolis Historic Preservation Commission and the Historic
Annapolis Foundation, which awarded him their Community Preservation
Award. He has served on the board of directors of the Maryland
Hall
for the Performing Arts. |

Mr.
Cook is a
Registered
Architect in the states of Maryland and Michigan, and has worked with
Halpern
Architects since 1999.
He is experienced in the
design and construction of a variety of building types,
including
medical office buildings, laboratories, single- and multi-family
residences, historic preservation, and adaptive re-use. His
responsibilities include design, project
management,
and development of contract documents, encompassing all project phases
from schematic design through the
completion
of construction. Mr. Cook is well versed in technologies and
strategies for sustainable design, and is a LEED Accredited
Professional. He taught both design and structures at Syracuse
University as a graduate assistant while working toward his Master of
Architecture. |
